GOAL

The goal of this program is to review the process for screening for and managing infections and conditions that are preventable with the appropriate use of immunoglobulins.

OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this program, the participant should be better able to:

  • List possible modes of transmission of hepatitis A virus
  • Identify risk factors for transmission of hepatitis B virus
  • Discuss the consequences of maternal-fetal Rh0 (D) antigen incompatibility
  • Review management protocols for animal bites and wounds
  • Describe measures for the prevention of rabies, tetanus, transmission of hepatitis A and hepatitis B viruses

ACCREDITATION

The University of Nebraska  Medical Center  College of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

This activity is provided for 1.0 contact hour under ANCC accreditation criteria. Provided for 1.2 contact hours under Iowa Provider #78. Provider Approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #13699 for 1.2 contact hours.
